Torrie is from Southern California and decided to move to the south just a few years ago. She knew she wanted to work in hospitality as early as middle school so when she graduated high school she moved to Las Vegas, NV where she received her bachelor's degree in Hospitality while graduating top of her class.  She spent over 7 years working in the hospitality industry, including working at major hotels such as Paris and Caesar's Palace.

Always wanting to further her education, Torrie then went back to school to obtain her teaching credential.  She spent 5 years teaching high school classes such as marketing, entrepreneurship, and digital photography. With Jason's expertise in music and Torrie's love for hospitality, they quickly joined forces to create Southern Sounds.

Torrie spends her free time her family, camping, boating and hanging out with their two dogs, Sam and Cal.

Jason Lee Smith
Owner

Jason has over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Music and lighting has always been his passion and a driving force in his life. High school summers were spent touring the U.S. with his own independent bands. Beginning his career early, by age 16, Jason promoted several successful concerts throughout the southeast.

Seeking cutting edge entertainment experience, he moved to Hollywood, California, where he worked in the lighting departments on several major motion pictures (Spiderman, War of the Worlds, Mission Impossible, The Fast and the Furious), television shows (CSI, The King of Queens, Everybody Hates Chris) and multiple music video productions (Ray Charles, Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Jurassic 5, Snoop Dogg).

Returning to Fairhope to live closer to family, Jason launched Southern Sounds and quickly formed one of the area's top DJ, lighting and video production companies. He and his team provide a wide range of experience in most aspects of event production, direction, music, entertainment, video production and lighting design.
